9721 Doty (1980 GB) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on April 14, 1980 by E. Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station of the Lowell Observatory.

This asteroid was named after Arthur G. Doty. From the citation in the Minor Planet Circulars, May 9, 2001: "Arthur G. Doty (1951-1999) was a life-long amateur astronomer whose passion inspired a continuing interest in astronomy in his family and friends. The name was suggested by N. Carlson and N. Adams."
